Since this was a clean mechanical injury (window lock cut) and you had considerable bleeding, the wound itself is not high-risk for tetanus if it was cleaned properly. You already received a tetanus booster (TT/Td) in January 2025, which gives good protection for at least 5 years (and up to 10 years for routine wounds). Lack of childhood vaccination records does NOT change the immediate need when a recent booster is documented. ➡️ You do NOT need another tetanus injection now.
Next Steps
• No tetanus injection required at present • Proper wound care: • Wash thoroughly with soap and running water • Apply antiseptic (povidone-iodine or chlorhexidine) • Keep covered and dry for 24–48 hours • Watch for signs of infection: • Increasing pain, redness, swelling, pus, or fever → seek care For long-term protection, if childhood immunization is truly uncertain, a planned Td/Tdap completion schedule can be discussed later (not urgent).
Health Tips
• Bleeding actually reduces tetanus risk by flushing spores • Avoid repeated unnecessary boosters (can cause side effects) • If the wound becomes deep, dirty, or infected → reassessment needed If you’d like, you can book an online consultation with me so I can review the wound visually, confirm tetanus coverage strategy, and guide you on long-term immunization planning for complete peace of mind.

It doesn't seem like a booster as you have not mentioned primary vaccination. Get yourself vaccinated with two doses of TT with an interval of one month

Hey, the first thing is that the tetanus booster is helpful in the situations where you have complete course of tetanus inj…for example:- two doses of tetanus between the gap of 28 days That’s why please clear the dates of current injury. If not then you can book a online consultation Thank you
