Test to detect asthma
Hi,
What is the actual test to determine asthma? Test which can assure that asthma is there or not. I did spirometry test and it was normal. Did six minute walking test and oxygen saturation is 98. Please help.

Hi. I understand your concern. Mainly it's a clinical diagnosis. But pulmonary function test is one of the important test for diagnosis. Diagnosis of asthma is based on clinical history and examination. As the symptoms are intermittent, the tests may be normal at times.
So it’s best to visit a pulmonologist during the symptoms so that correct diagnosis can be established.
