Nowadays there are many better ways for dental bleaching,  there are mostly two types,  at home bleaching and at dental office bleaching. 

Whitening procedure by dentist has much expected results.  It's cost may vary depending upon  expertise and art of a dentist,  location of clinic,  materials used etc.  It may ranges between 6000- 15000

The cost of teeth whitening, like any other procedure, varies from dentist to dentist depending upon his location, experience and the type of materials used..... the cost can vary from 3000 rupees to 10000 rupees per session..... the side effects mainly include sensitivity which is temporary and subsides in the next few days.....

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure done to lighten the existing colour of your discoloured teeth...  However the etiolofy (reason) for the colour change has to be ascertained before starting the procedure (  mild, moderate or severe staining)...
Based on this the treatment options can be decided.

Regarding the side effects, one can expect a little post operative sensitivity for few days which again is a reversible phenomenon. ..

Whitening can be two types office bleach and home bleach .
It's an oxidation process it doesn't have any side effects it may be sensitive for few days
