Hello
At 16 months, most babies have 6 to 8 teeth, but there is wide variation. Having 4 upper and 3 lower teeth is within normal limits.
Teeth can erupt from 6 months to 3 years. Sequence and timing vary among children. Delayed teeth can run in families and doesn’t usually indicate any problem if other growth milestones are normal.
Next Steps
Start brushing twice daily with a soft brush and a smear of fluoride toothpaste.
Avoid sugary snacks and bottle feeding at night to prevent dental caries.
Encourage healthy chewing with soft solids to promote gum stimulation.
Health Tips
If no teeth by 18 months, or if there are concerns about growth, development, or nutrition, consider evaluation.

At 16 months, having 7 teeth (4 upper and 3 lower) is within the normal range of teething.
Some children get teeth earlier, while others are a bit delayed—it can vary widely and still be completely normal. The first molars and canines usually begin to erupt between 13 to 19 months, so more teeth should appear soon.
Next Steps
Ensure a nutritious diet with adequate calcium and vitamin D
Let your child chew on soft silicone teething toys
Massage gums gently with a clean finger
Maintain good oral hygiene even with a few teeth
Health Tips
Consult a paediatrician or pediatric dentist -
If your child has no new teeth by 18 months, or if you're concerned about overall growth and development, you can visit your pediatrician for evaluation. In rare cases, delayed teething can be related to nutritional or hormonal factors.
Yes the child has a good teeth number.
Give her calcium rich foods in form of milk - about 500 ml per day. Can substitute cheese slices, cheese cubes, paneer, curd for it. Ragi too is rich with calcium. This will help build bones and teeth
Weight of 9 kg is fine. Remember, under 2 years of age there is no restriction of fat and you can offer calorie dense foods liberally. Eg. 1 egg ( cooked) every day. Ghee/ butter / any form of tadka and full fat milk and other items. So too non veg is to be encouraged.
