The most common reason for tooth pain is probably because of decay when it reaches the deeper layers of the tooth. You can take over the counter painkiller which suits you but the long term solution is to get yourself checked and get the tooth treated. Prolonging tooth pain usually ends up with an extensive treatment.
Next Steps
You can send a picture or get an X-ray and have it evaluated.

Clinical examination and x ray required.
Kindly do not ignore the pain. If the pain is due to decay, then decay will go deep and leading to continuous pain. A tooth that can be saved by filling will go for RCT.
So firstly it is important to know the clinical and pathological condition of the tooth, to rule out the cause of pain. I suggest you to visit a dentist nearby and get your clinical dignoses done first. Get the x-ray done so that doctor will come to know if there is infection causing the pain. Post a picture of your tooth and x-ray if possible for thorough examination.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist nearby.
Health Tips
Rinse with luke warm salt water. Apply ice outside on affected area. brush properly in that area and floss regularly.
It is important to diagnose the pathology that resulted in tooth pain and then proceed with the treatment.a clinical examination is must to diagnose the pathology or at least please post a picture of the tooth so that one can have a fair idea of the pathology . Visit the nearest dentist and in the mean time you can take any over the counter painkiller.
