If you have sensitivity to cold and sweet, it is most likely dentinal sensitivity due to caries, if it progress to sensitivity to hot food or drinks and throbbing pain while lying down, it will definitely require RCT.

It does not seem like a normal sensitivity it is caused by nerve exposures. It seems that your tooth is affected by Irreversible pulpitis and will require root canal treatment so that your symptoms are permanently alleviated. You should not delay this treatment because it is not going to get cured by medications only which will only provide temporary symptomatic relief. Try to visit a dentist as soon as possible so that the right objective treatment can be initiated as soon as possible, most importantly before the symptoms aggravate further. Regards.
