It is a deep cavity. After removal of the carries the dentist will know whether a filling would work or a RCT will be required. Any x-ray does not show the extent of decay completely accurately. Hence your dentist is a better judge when he sees the case clinically.
Hello, your xray clearly shows that cavity/decay doesnt extend upto the sensitive area of tooth(pulp). We can do filling by considering ur xrays only. Deep caries management by filling can be done.
Next Steps
But xrays has only 2d visual. if u have severe sensitivity while cleaning the cavity we can place base and temporary filling over it and wait for a week if u dnt have discomforts then we can do permanent filling. if u have discomfort during the observation period then no other option left we need to do root canal treatment. if u dnt have any sensitivity while cleaning the decay then filling is enough for 100%.
