My mother is has TB and currently under ATT it's been 2 months(IP) , Doctor Adviced for AFB ,
Result show 1+ sample A and scanty for sample B does this mean she is not responding to treatment or is it possible that tb is drug restiant ,now they have put her on continuation phase(Dots)
Cough has reduced and she has gained some weight , will she recover from tb ?

Hi. I understand your concern. Do a online consult for a detailed analysis of symptoms and reports to suggest you further management plan and treatment prescription for the same
May or may not be drug resistant or may be NTM. In some cases though drug sensitive, sample will be positive after intensive phase. Sample will be sent for verification of resistant pattern automatically if it was government sector.
Continue ATT for one more month, repeat AFB stain or go for resistant pattern immediately.

Hi as per current TB treatment guidelines there is no extension of intensive phase , can extend continuous phase based on the response.
BETTER GO FOR SPUTUM CBNAAT , AND LIQUID CULTURE AND DST .
