Hello Doctor,
I previously used Naltrexone and am considering asking my doctor to prescribe it again. I am also currently taking Atomoxetine.
Is it safe to take Naltrexone and Atomoxetine together?
I had to stop Atomoxetine in the past because it caused urinary retention (difficulty passing urine). If I restart Naltrexone, could it worsen this problem or interact with Atomoxetine?
Thank you.

In general, Naltrexone and Atomoxetine can be used together, and there is no major known drug interaction between them. However, both medicines should be taken only under the supervision of your treating doctor, who can monitor for side effects and ensure they are suitable for your condition.
Naltrexone is not commonly associated with urinary retention and is unlikely to significantly worsen this problem.
Next Steps
Arrange a review with your prescribing doctor and inform them about your previous urinary retention while on Atomoxetine before making any medication changes.
