Tablet for Acidity. For long term use!

I have moderate hiatus hernia from past few years and consuming daily one tablet daily morning for acidity problem . Please suggest any good tablet which is equivalent to Sompraz L and it should not create any side effects for long term , as i am already taking acidity medicines from past 3years. I am worried about my future health because of daily consumption of acidity tablet . Dose really effect the health with other side effects , if yes , could some one help me with good and safe long term medicine for my problem. Note : I don't want to go for surgery, as I have already undergone endoscopy for multiple times and found that it's moderate haitus hernia and consulted multiple doctors for suggestion and they said at this stage surgery is not needed. Pls pls suggest me good tablet for acidity which does not cause any side effects for long term use
