Swollen left thumb hand
I had an accident and my thumb is swollen from three days although I can still move it a little. Is it broken? What should I do? I can't go out of my home for an x-ray.

If ur thumb is not working properly then X-Ray must otherwise u can tk physiotherapy wax and ultrasonic therapy

Hi this is Dr Hitin Mathur, Orthopaedic surgeon from Fortis c-doc Hospital New Delhi. Welcome to practo. As far as your thumb is concerned, it would be difficult to say whether it's broken or not without examining it clinically. Moreover an x-ray would probably also be required to rule out a bone injury.

Try cold therapy ( use ice cubes ad massage it at effected thumb apply some oil before doing it on effected area for 19 min thrice a day) if some bluish colour appears on skin don't panic it's shows that your muscle has represented only . If no progress consult orthopaedic.
