Swollen ankle
I twisted my ankle while playing tennis. I tied crepe bandage around it for a few days and the pain went away but the ankle still appears swollen and hurts when twisted in a particular angle. I have no pain in walking and other activities.

This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

Your history suggests high energy trauma with sprain or fracture Try applying Ice packs. Keep affected limb elevated. Medications like Enzomac will help in swelling. Do not bear weight over affected ankle.
Next Steps
Get x-rays done to rule out fracture.
Health Tips
Persistent pain and swelling can be due to either fracture or ligament sprains and both of them requires immobilisation for 4-6 weeks. Ideal time for ligament recovery is 4 weeks.
