Hello, first of all avoid chewing from the affected side,,donot apply hot fomentation from outside the cheek,,take a tablet Zerodol-SP and then see a dentist asap, the swelling as you are describing could be of a dental origin,,maybe an unerupted tooth or a deep decayed tooth.

Hi, as per your description, the reason appears mostly to be of dental origin and from a tooth having cavity which has gone deep. Its not a good sign to have facial swelling so its recommended to go for a professional help as soon as possible. In the mean time take a pain killer which u usually take and jus check dat it should not contain an ingredient called as - SERATIOPEPTIDASE. Avoid chewing from affected side, take soft diet and plenty of fluids.
Next Steps
Visit your dentist as soon as possible for proper identification of problem and treatment.
that swelling can be due to 3rd molar infection.if not then can be another underlying cause.do not ignore.asap go to ur nearby dentist n gt it chkd.mean while start rinsing ur mouth with lukewarm water with pinch of salt in it for minimum of 4 tyms a day. n take a painkiller.do not put any hot pad from outside as it will worsen the condition.
