Swelling on ACL surgery stitch
Hi, I had an ACL surgery last September. Until recently I was not facing any issues but lately my leg gets swollen up right on the stitches(long one) again and again. I heated a safety pin and tried removing the puss twice, it worked, but somehow it just comes back again. I am guessing an incision has to be made and the puss has to be removed completely and taken proper care of. Age - 23 Height - 5'10" weight - 78 Id like to know what are my options and how much it would cost me approx. Thank you

First get an ultrasound of the knee and total count and crp blood test which will differentiate if the abscess is just superficial or deep. Once that idea is there - options of treatment Superficial - make a small Nick and drain it out Deep - complete wash out of the joint to be done.. While doing this pus to be sent for culture and sensitivity and antibiotics to be put on accordingly

This does. It look good. Visit your surgeon, at least get a Incision and Drainage and debridement done. Pus culture might be helpful to know the causative organism.
