Swelling in the Gums
Good morning Doctor! I am Poonam Bali. Since past 2 to 3 days i have a slight swelling on the gums behind my third molar tooth. It pains if i chew anything. Kindly advice  to understand the cause of this and the possible treatment for the same. I am not able to physically go to a dentist due to lockdown. Please reply. Thank you

Don't chew any hard substance from that side use luke warm water with salt and also take povidone iodine gargle for one week and use augmentin 625 tab BD for 6 days, use zerodol sp for relieving pain and becosules capsule 6 cap for 3 days, you can take zenflox oz tab , 1 tablet at night for 6 days, swelling is gone in few days and use any lignocaine gel for your relieve.

Gum swelling behind third molar is due to some infection.
Next Steps
(-) Visit a dentist as soon as possible. (-) Till then you can do warm saline water rinses thrice a day (-) If their is any swelling on face, then apply ice pack from outside (-) X-ray / OPG is required (-) Maintaine good oral hygiene (-) Can take any pain killer (SOS)

Go for opg xray Don’t delay if complications occur you will be in big problems. Dental clinic which are open now are days are strictly following strict covid guidelines.

Swelling in that location is mainly due to gum infection caused by food accumulation. Partially erupted teeth cause this. -Start warm salt water rinse thrice daily -Use a medicated mouthwash twice daily - Proper brushing twice daily to avoid food accumulation.
Next Steps
-If pain persists you may have to consult dentist online for medication. - Once you are comfortable, visit dentist to get it diagnosed.
