Surgical extraction!
I had my impacted wisdom third molar removed nearly about 10 days back! I don't have any pain now , the xray shows all clear ( no left over tooth or roots) , no dry socket etc! But i have a small hole somewhere at the back! ( iam assuming that's a normal protocol) and a flap of gum on the side of the extraction site ( i got stiches which i got removed on day 7) now my question is, are these two things a part of normal findings after a surgical extraction? Is there anything to worry? Also is there a wat to close or fill the hole since i will have some food accumulated till the time it doesn't close on its own? 1) Iam doing mouthwash and warm saline rinses and keeping oral hygiene as mch as possible! Anything I should be adding to this? What is the time frame for the flap of gums on the extraction/ sutuchre site and the hole to complete recover/ fill ! Please don't advise going to the dentist since I already did that and he gave a clean chit and said everything looks good !

Hello, this might be in case of normal healing, maintain your oral hygiene. Brush twice daily, warm saline rinses is a must. Usually gum takes 3-4 months to heal completely.

Hi there! It is a normal phenomenon that you have a hole at the site of extraction. Normal healing period (for the extraction site to close completely) is 1-2months. The soft tissue healing might be a little faster in some individuals (15days-1month) There is nothing to worry about it unless you have any redness/pain/sensitivity at the surgical site
Next Steps
Just continue gargling properly after taking food & all the other oral hygiene tips as the other dentist suggested

Hi, There is not need to worry. The flap will close with time. Wait for another 2 weeks. If it does not close, then go back to your dentist for a review. Maintain the oral hygiene protocols, rinse your mouth thoroughly after every meal, make sure no food gets lodged in the open flap area.
