Surgery for Ewing's Sarcoma??
My son's treatment for Ewing's Sarcoma started 10 days ago with chemotherapy for 3 days in a row. The affected area is his left wrist with the bone marrow aspiration report showing metastasis. I have read about surgical removal of tumour. What are the factors that determine whether surgical removal of the tumour is required??

Ewing's tumor will need surgery or radiation therapy depending on site. I need to see all reports to give opinion. Please share your reports with me.

Surgical removal of tumor is advised if the surgery is simple and it doesn't lead to disfunction of the limb. Any surgery with complete removal of tumor with preservation of limb function is better than radiation. Radiation is better when you expect some function loss or risk of damaging critical structures like vessel or nerve.
But more important is timing of surgery or Radiation around 9th week after treatment.
