Sugar Levels
Good Morning Doctors My fathers age is 60 years old, till now no bp issue only issue was elevated sugar levels. Like FBS - 110-138 mg/dL and PPBS- 140-180 mg/dL. Whenever my dad was on kerala an ate whatever he wanted his sugar levels are normal like FBS- 108- 115 mg/dL and PPBS- 140-155 mg/dL. But whenever he comes to gujarat and had a restricted diets and low sugar consumptions his sugar levels are always high. Likr FBS- 110-138 and PPBS 140-155 mg/dL. Checked through Accucheck Sugar Checking machine. Why a very huge difference. Hb1ac is normal

At times we should check the accuracy of our Glucometer. You should get the Blood sugar for your father tested at a nearby Laboratory and do the blood sugar in Glucometer at the same time.  If there is a difference then you have to take  Laboratory reading as correct.  Next time onwards you can use  Zero correction formula  (adding or subtracting the difference in the reading). Then you can monitor your father on home Glucometer.
