Sugar is 173 and negative ICT test
I am 28 weeks pregnant and recently had a blood test. My blood sugar level was 173.3 mg/dL after consuming 50 grams of glucose and having a meal. My ICT (Indirect Coombs Test) report was also negative. Regarding the ICT test, I understand that a negative result means no further action is needed at this time. Could you please confirm this is correct? I am also concerned about the blood sugar level. I would like to know if any further action is needed, such as additional testing or lifestyle modifications, to manage this.

ICT negative indicates that the mother's blood does not have antibodies that could react with the baby's red blood cells, which is a normal and reassuring result. This suggests a low risk of blood incompatibility issues like hemolytic disease of the newborn. However, even with a negative ICT, a prophylactic dose of anti-D immunoglobulin is still typically given around 28 weeks of pregnancy to prevent the mother from producing antibodies if fetal blood enters her system later in the pregnancy. Regarding your sugar level kindly repeat proper OGCT test
