Depression
One can identify a person as depressed firstly by judging his appearance. They generally have a sad n sullen appearance with slow walk or actions. They r mainly characterised by pervasive low mood, fatigue, thots of hopelessness helplessness and worthlessness, poss of interest in daily routine and r unable to seek pleasure in pleasurable activities.
Mania
Person with mania is characterised by expansive and elevated mood and activity. They can also be highly aggressive. During this phase they can talk excessively, unable to sleep for few days and indulge in productive or aimless activity. There is flight of ideas and can show extreme religiosity.
