Strabismic amblyopia
Hi
I am 33 yrs old. Have strabismic amblyopia since I was around 1 yr of age. Earlier no one could even guess that I had strabismus because both my eyes looked normal. But after around 8-10 yrs of studies pressure my lazy eye has turned outward. Now strabismus is clearly visible. What could be done so that I least appear normal... A few acupuncturist claim that it could be corrected... Plz guide

Strabismus (squint) needs surgery for cosmesis. Amblyopia can’t b corrected at this age. Contact an Oculoplastic surgeon for squint correction.

you need full eye examination.
Acupuncture can not correct Amblyopia and squint.
Only squint can be corrected by operation.Amblyopia can not be treated at this age.
Best is to come for examination for final opinion.

Hello mam..this type of strabismus usually requires surgical correction and can't be corrected by acupuncture or medically. With surgery,only cosmetic correction will come but no improvement in vision.
Next Steps
please visit nearby paediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon. With proper evaluation they will be able to guide to possible treatment and its outcome.

Hello Ma'am..don't fall prey to any such claims of correcting squint by acupuncture or any other non surgical remedies..meet any nearby Oculoplasty Eye Surgeon for detailed eye examination and evaluation of squint. He / She will suggest whether you can go ahead with a cosmetic surgery correction of the squint.
