Stomach Acid!!
2 days ago I had gas bloating issues after lunch due to having a heavy meal that makes the stomach filled and bloated. Then gradually it resolved as the time passed but since then while having lunch and dinner, feeling an irritation on throat just when swallowing food and also today feeling a pressure in back side exactly when swallowing food during lunch/ dinner and the throat irritation happening only while taking spices like curry, salt etc. Is this due to the bloating issues that happened back then? I need some suggestions to cure this issue.

This looks like acid-related irritation of the food pipe (esophagus) following your heavy meal and bloating episode—most consistent with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) or transient esophagitis. Clues supporting this: • Started after heavy, gas-producing meal • Irritation while swallowing, especially with spicy/salty foods • Back pressure on swallowing → often referred pain from esophagus • No continuous pain or severe symptoms
Next Steps
• Start an antacid/acid suppressor for a few days: – Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before breakfast (5–7 days) • You can add a soothing agent: – Liquid antacid after meals if needed • Dietary precautions for 5–7 days: – Avoid spicy, oily, acidic foods – Avoid very hot food/drinks – Eat smaller meals • If symptoms persist >7–10 days or worsen → consult for further evaluation
Health Tips
• Do not lie down immediately after meals (wait at least 2–3 hours) • Eat slowly and chew well • Avoid overeating—major trigger for reflux • Limit tea, coffee, carbonated drinks • Mild throat irritation can take a few days to settle even after reflux improves ⚠️ Red flags (seek care early): • Difficulty swallowing solids/liquids • Food getting stuck • Persistent chest pain or weight loss ⸻
