I had a stapedectomy via tympanotomy 3 weeks ago on my right ear. After the packing was removed on the 10 day i started hearing a lot better and all the sounds seemed really loud and i was very happy for that. But then after 3 day all the sounds and the improvement just went away just like that and now it has been a week since im back to being deaf on my right ear. Could the stapedectomy have failed or maybe the prostesis slipped? If so how can i be sure that it has infact slipped?

Sudden hearing loss after stapedectomy is usually because of slipping of the prosthesis and it can be confirmed by taking a high resolution CT scan of temporal bone. If confirmed revision surgery is necessary to repair the problem
Next Steps
Consult your ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
