Stammering, especially when it is triggered by specific consonants or high-pressure social situations (like public speaking or talking to strangers), is often a combination of a developmental speech pattern and situational anxiety. The sounds you mentioned—D, S, P, T, K, N, B—are 'plosives' or 'fricatives' that require precise airflow and tongue placement. When you are nervous, the muscles in your throat and jaw tighten, making it harder to produce these sounds smoothly, which leads to a block or repetition."
Next Steps
To discuss how your physical tension might be contributing to these speech blocks and to get a referral to a top-tier speech therapist, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile."
Health Tips
Stammering is a hurdle, not a barrier; with the right SLP support, you can become a confident public speaker. Please book a full session so we can discuss a referral plan.....
