Don't hurry for Squint surgery, first send the child to school so that he should learn how to read  alphabet & for complete treatment of squint child should know & cooperate with ophthalmologist to  know whether his vision is normal  or less than normal in Squinting eye if vision is less than normal  then child has to undergo for  pleoptic treatment for equalising Vision in both eyes, it may take1-6 months depending on how much vision he is having in Squinting eye, if his vision is already equal in both eyes ( chances of equal vision in normal  & Squinting eye is very less),then go for surgery, proper assessment of vision is not possible below 5yrs old. If you go for Squint surgery & Vision is less in  Squinting eye  ,child will again develop Squint in5-10yrs. consult Squint department in AIIMS New Delhi& take advice from them,  these days Squint department is neglected, ophthalmologist is taking interest in money minting department like phaco-emulsification & refractive surgery like LASIK & Smile only, child has to undergo all this procedure only upto 10 yrs of age.pleoptic treatment only successful upto 10 yrs of age.
