Squint eyes surgery
Good evening sir/ma'am I want to ask I have glaucoma in my left eye..m still using eye drop regularly...But last few years it is going left side of the corner slowly slowly... Can it be fix by surgery...there is 90% vission loss..too

Because of poor vision in the left eye, the left eye might be temporarily losing fixation and deviating out and when you notice it, you actively try to get it in center. Somethjng called as sensory exotropia.

It’s natural for eyes with significant vision loss to develop squint . Make sure your medical therapy for glaucoma is adequate and isn’t causing gradual vision loss. Kindly visit an ophthalmologist and under a full glaucoma work up again including IOP and visual filed evaluation.

In Glaucoma the damage is irreversible.So,whatever visual field gone,cannot be restored,but we can always try to preserve the remaining visual field.Before planning a surgery there are many factors to consider.So, detailed evaluation is definitely needed.

Increase in eye pressure and progression of glaucoma can be stopped with medicines and with surgery. The lost vision cannot be gained. Consulting and regular follow up is utmost necessary for monitoring the response to medicines and need of surgery.
