Hi
I'm having this pain in my Thumb since 2016. It comes and goes with time. This time I was hit by Covid and after recovery I feel the pain is more frequent. No idea if this is related to Covid, but the pain is severe these days. Not able to take sound sleep. Kindly guide me the procedure of treatment for this Sprained Thumb injury.
Thanks

Pain in chronic conditions gets exacerbated after Covid due to inflammation.
Next Steps
The thumb needs examination to check for instability. Consult through video or in clinic, if possible. Till then,
Use a crepe bandage/ Thumb spica splint.
Give rest to affected hand.
Apply pain relief spray.
Apply warm water bags.
Can take Tab Signoflam twice a day after food for 3 days.
Video consult with me for detailed discussion about your condition and more specific approach to managing your problem or if you have any further questions, feel free to connect directly.
Your problem sounds chronic since its from 2016. So ideally we have to localise ur problem through a video consultation . Unlikely it's related to covid. For the time being u can take aceclofenac 100 mg twice daily for 3 days for temporary pain relief
