Sprained ankle
Hi,
I sprained my ankle after slipping in the rain and there seems to be some swelling and it hurts.
I do have both cold compress and heat pack but not sure which to use when. Is one preferred over the other for sprains?

Dear patient ankle sprain of grade --ll and lll with swelling should be immobilised with slab... alongwith it few medications are given :
Analgesics and medicine to control swelling ...
Mind it , the problem requires immediate attention as delay may cause problem...

As of now ,you can apply cold compress over the affected part of the ankle or ice pack application.Keep your leg elevated and use ankle support.You can try ibuprofen for the pain.If swelling and pain are bothering you ,get an x-ray of the affected ankle.
