Recently suffered a sprain in the wrist which is lingering past two weeks. During workout may have sprained it. Now whenever trying to twist the wrist, the ache starts from the little finger and ring finger and continues further up till the elbow. Can't hold or lift anything with my right hand. Please suggest a remedy as I'm not getting proper time to get this treated soon.
ps - I work out at the gym with medium weights.

Dear friend
First thing to do is icing along with rest to your wrist.
Use splint to support as well as give rest to your wrist.
Stop work out for few days and take physical therapy sessions as soon as possible.
You hav to do ice fomentation with ice cubes or cool pack wrapped in a cotton towel for 15 min. surrounding the wrist up to the elbow for 4 times a day. swelling and inflammation comes down. already 2 weeks completed means the healing process started.avoid lifting weights.
Next Steps
do gentle wrist movements with wrist support but don't do the rotation movements. Consult a SPORTS or ORTHO PHYSIOTHERAPIST.
Health Tips
MAY NEED AN X-RAY FILM TO RULE OUT ANY FRACTURE. don't rub or do massage at the injured site as it may increase the swelling
Wear a splint to rest the wrist. Don't twist or wring. Anti inflammatories will help. Ultrasound therapy will speed up the healing. Don't work out till pain relief.
You need to see a physio and I think it could be the effect of sprain not subsiding or muscle imbalance caused due to protective spasm of the Muscle following injury which now have converted into stiffness. See a physiotherapist and you will be fine.
