Hi dear Many people suffer from slip disc but the doctors usually Suggest to operate only if they have any complaints. If u are right now pain free and have no other issues i don't think u need to go ahead with surgery . However due to any reason if u decide to go for surgery these days because of lot of advancement in technology the procedures are very safe and will not  hamper ur quality of life Kindly consult in case of further query Take care

If there is no symptoms now.. I don't think surgery is a indication as such... But ofcourse that depends on the degree of disc prolapse... Kindly discuss with a neurosurgeon once and decide accordingly sir .. I feel surgery may not be needed at present
