Sore throat
My mother is having sore throat since 4 days...she has taken medicines from a physician but still the throat is as sore as it was...she had runny nose in the morning 2 days back...she has no travel history...is it serious?...what to do?...iam scared...her throat feels dry and sore

After 3 days ...its get infected with bacteria..you add Tab Azax 500mg of x 5 days +syrp Alex 7.5ml tds+Tab calpol 500mg tds
Next Steps
only in case of high fever/chest pain/breathing difficulty ...get worried ..and show nearby hospital..otherwise stay home

Hi...based on the history u have provided...seems like she is having URTI...most probably a viral infection...since she has no travel history or history of contact with a person with recent travel history...it is mostly a common viral infection..
Next Steps
syp.alex 5ml twice daily, tab.calpol one tab twice daily, salt water gargling,steam inhalation...ask her to stay indoors for next week or so
Health Tips
if she starts to have any difficulty in breathing or high grade fever...approach nearest hospital!!

Since she has no travel history and no exposure ( u have not mentioned that though) u need not worry. Just observe. It will be gud to start with an antibiotic. Consult and if possible put a photo of the throat
