Smile Design or Braces
A friend has a problem of her front teeth alignment.
She visited a couple of dentist. One suggested for Braces ,he is an orthodontist.
The second doctor recommended smile design as it would be a quicker treatment and she is home maker and have plans to get pregnant.
She is a bit confused what steps to take. Your thoughts on it.

Ideally an Orthodontic treatment. Better visit a dental practice who are offering both of this treatments. A clinical evaluation is critical in such cases.

Hii ....i am endodontist ...i will suggest smile designing....as it is less time consuming....and less painful also....ortho treatment is very lengthy, painful and stressful also......after fixed therapy patient has to wear retainer also for long time in ortho treatment ....so go for intentional rct followed by cap

Hii. I am Dr.Maitry.i would like to sugget for orthodontic treatment. Actually the result of orthodontic treatment is permanent.
There is no mention of the patient's age.if she is pregnant now then don't go for the orthodontic treatment right now. Basically to correct the alignment of the tooth there may be some requirement of extraction. In pregnancy cases extraction is not suggested.after delivery she can do her orthodontic treatment...The age should be below 30

Hello,
It's always better to undergo Orthodontic treatment as it is a long term solution with maintainable results. But we have to check in the patient's mouth and her x-rays for better guidance.
Orthodontic treatment will not require any medication or any diet restrictions so it may not be a hinderence during the pregnancy period but Oral hygiene maintenance is utmost important during pregnancy.
