Hii.. i've noticed small white patches on my upper and lower gums .. it painless and not even bothering me.. im also a smoker so should i be worried about these spots..

It can be leukoplakia.
Ideal rx is laser excision
ORAWAYS buccal paste thrice daily for 7 days
Diet modifications:-
Green leafy vegetables ,tomatoes, skimmed milk, Tumeric paste
Its mostly due to tobacco smoking.
Quit the habit completely and do never restart.
The patch, if non scrapable, do not worry, it may not get eliminated. But won't cause harm.
Do not apply any gel or balm intraorally.
Have TOMATO as much as possible.

The history of the condition is not complete.It might be a candidiasis r leukoplakia r lichenplanus . To have a proper diagnosis biopsy should be done . Stop the habit of smoking completely . Visit a dentist and get it treated as soon as possible.
