Slipped Disc
Hi, I have been suffering from slip disc for last 3 to 4 months. Initially there was only pain on left leg while driving(may be nerve). But since last 2 weeks, the condition has worsen and I am encountering back pain while sitting for long duration and also a different kind of pain on lower back left side while walking. My question is how to recover from slipped disc? Is exercise recommended in this situation?

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. However I would like to examine & investigate the patient  in detail. Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or any other metabolic disorder, if there is  any. Any way it may be tried, --. Dolokind Plus (Mankind) [Aceclofenac100 mg +Paracetamol 350 mg] 1 tab. OD & SOS. X 5 days. --. Caldikind plus  (Mankind) 1 tab OD x 10 days. (You may need help of your local doctor to get these medicines.) --. Fomentation with warm water. Let the part not be exposed to cold air. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Use no pillow under the head. --. Avoid painful acts & activities. -- .Do mild exercises for back and hips. --.(Take help of a  physiotherapist). --Do not ignore, let it not become beginning of a major problem. --Do ask for a detailed treatment plan. No exercises when it is painful. Strict bed rest. Get MRI LS SPINE done.

I presume you had had an MRI which shows slipped disc. If so your treatment options are conservative treatment s including gentle exercises, physiotherapy and anti Neuropathic medications. If pain persists despite this you could benefit from Epidural injections. Surgical decompression is advised if pain is severe and not responding to conservative treatments mentioned above or you develop limb weakness or symptoms of bowel or bladder involvement.
