Sleep paralysis is a common problem.By itself it is not harmful to health.
But, if your father is facing excessive drowsiness during daytime, he ll need to be evaluated with a sleep study .
If your father only has sleep paralysis while going to sleep and waking up from sleep and is otherwise normal, he can follow these suggestions to reduce the number of attacks.
Avoid sleep deprivation .
Follow regular sleep wake schedule.
