Sleep apnea
Is sleep apnea really a disease? Or just a fraud? I have read many reports but all of them contradictory. They themselves found no conclusive results!! How can a guy stop breathing and not know for even once in 8 hours?

Yes sleep apnea is disease. When you sleep there are two patterns NREM sleep which is initial phase and next is REM deep sleep. This pattern alternates all through sleep. REM sleep is sound sleep and in sleep apnea duration of this sound sleep is reduced due to frequent awakening caused by airway obstruction. You may not be awake but there is frequent change from REM to NREM pattern hence you don't realise.
