Hello Doctor,
I’m facing a skin issue around my groin/thigh area (where the inner thighs touch). It started about 2 months ago and has gradually worsened, especially after I shifted to Mumbai.
The affected skin has darkened with clearly visible borders. It feels itchy mainly after sweating, walking, or wearing tight clothes. It’s usually dry, and when I scratch, small skin particles come off. There is no discharge or smell. I am slightly overweight, so my thighs rub together while walking, which may be contributing.
I haven’t used any products or shaved the area. I had dry skin issues on my foot in the past.
Could this be a fungal infection or related to friction/dryness? What treatment would you recommend? Do I need any prescription medicine or is an over-the-counter cream enough?
Thank you in advance.
