My mother in law takin sipon syrup medicine since 8 years . Earlier due to loss of appetite doctor prescribed.
But now if she don't take sipon she doesn't feel hungry and get sleep issues.
Should she continue taking Sipon for lifetime? is there any alternative?

You perhaps mean apion syrup. It is commonly and one of the few medicines available for increasing appetite. It has a mild sedative effect so perhaps that is why she gets a good sleep.
To answer definitely whether she can continue or not would need more info like the reason it was started and her past medical history. Till such time you do so she can continue as it is a very benign medication.
