Shoulder & Chest Pain from Marijuana.
Everytime I smoke weed, I feel my left shoulder and arm hurt. This started the beginning of February and I've been a Marijuana smoker since January 2016. I have a generalized anxiety disorder and when I smoke, I worry about having a heart attack as I know it speeds up heart rate. Now I've been to the doctor multiple times with numerous EKG's, Cardiac Enzyme Tests, and ever an Electrocardiogram while resting. All said it was fine and so did the cardiologist, but I did not mention the Weed aspect. Now my shoulder and arm does hurt sometimes when I'm not High, but increases when I am. I do think and worry about it when I'm under the influence. I know that it is very very rare for Weed to cause sudden heart attacks, and a lot of people over 50 use it, but I need some advice to make me feel better. I am a 17 year old Male, not very active, 240 lbs, and have a resting heart rate anywhere from 65-80 BPM. Thank you very much !

Your symptoms suggest a chance of cervical spondylitis most likely due to a sedentary lifestyle, excessive weight and improper posture. There isn't a clear study that proves that marijuana can cause heart attacks as of yet, but it's an ongoing study. So it is likely the spondylitis is causing the pain all the time but it is getting more prominent when you get high on marijuana as you pay more attention to the pain which in turn triggers your anxiety attack and causes the heart rate to increase. I would advise you to meet an orthoedician/neurosurgeon so that you can be examined and undergo investigations such as X-Ray, CT/MRI(if indicated) to find the underlying cause of the problem and have it treated accordingly. The following steps may help: - Avoid fattening, sugar treats, oily, deep fried and junk food. - Have a well balanced diet with lots of green leafy vegetables, lean meat and fruits. - Exercise regularly(30-45mins per day) - Try to maintain the correct posture while standing, sitting, walking, lying down - Maintain a healthy weight as per your BMI - Drink 3 liters of water per day - Destress yourself with practices such as meditation/yoga/tai chi If your problems persist or worsen visit the ER at the earliest
