Shotting pain in right knee.
Hello my mom is having both the knee very weak. Doctor advised a replacement. She is suffering from pain at right knee severely. Both kness get swollen. She is also having blood pressure. And she also has the vericose veins... it sometimes visible blueish collected at lower thighs reqion.

If it's severe Osteoarthritis of the knees...replacement is the best option with s very high success rate. Need to see her knee X-rays to comment further.
