Shortness of breathing
Is there a shortness of breath before periods .. because I feel like shortness of breathing and chest tightness before periods...is it ok or serious issue ? Which test I have to do ?

Hi. I understand your concern s. Depends on since when you are having this issue. And also your symptoms needs to be elaborated. Consult a pulmonologist via chat consult for the same.

Yes indeed it’s very much common and nothing serious,Per-menstrual symptoms are part of hormonal changes causing anxiety,breathless .
Next Steps
No tests are required except healthy diet,water,and sleep ,and most important hygiene. In view of Covid19,stay positive and healthy.

If breathlessness occurs everytime during or before mense, there may be two conditions 1. Premenstrual syndrome or anxiety related breathlessness 2. second thing may be catamenial asthma Both of these conditions are not very serious

Plz do your Chest X ray and Consult Pulmonologist nearby/ online..! You need to rule out lung parenchymal disease..!

You may feel a little bit nauseous before periods or slightly  uneasy . It is  absolutely  normal.
Next Steps
You may go for CBC and thyroid test.

Drink 4 to 5 litres of water Avoid  spicy food, excess tea or coffee Try to relax and try deep breathing  exercises

Recently your are having this issue ?? Or regularly you are having that... Shortness of breath... If its regularly happening treat the underlying cause by visiting a gynaecologist...If menses is heavy... If no gynaecology issue.... Then yes , young female shortness of breath during period... Needs proper evaluation... Chest x-ray, PEFR and clinical examination...
