Severe Toothache and fever
My husband having Severe pain in one of his tooth for which he already did RCT and capping few months back. Now he visited dentist and dentist said that RCT is not done properly so we have to do it again and he gave pain killer and antibiotics for 5 days, now after taking those medicines my husband feeling fever and bodyache. Fever varies between 99 to 101 Please help me to understand why this is happening and what to do. Thanks in advance

I think pus collected under that teeth . Inside pressure may increase severity of pain. Fist visit dentist and remove that crown and then take  medications. After take medicines remove that teeth.mild fevere may due to that pus collection under that tooth area. Also visit physician and check medical conditions....

Need to get x ray of the tooth done and shared so that we can see and guide. If the tooth is badly weakened then ReRCt has guarded prognosis

Do get the capping removed.  It will relieve the pressure on that  tooth.slight fever is expected sometimes associated  with  tooth pain... Continue with the medications prescribed ..Nothing  to worry..

Dear practo user With toothache, sometime fever comes. So don't worry. It pain in continuing and relieving after medicine go for crown removal and re rct. As it will give him immediate relief and medicine will do their job too.

do take capping removed, it will relieve pressure over tooth.

Hello Ma'am , Welcome to Practo. I went through you query , As a specialist I would recommend you to get the tooth extracted . As its infected causing pain and resulting fever and body ache . kindly take switch to these medications - Cap Sporidex 500mg 1 cap bd x 5 days - Tab Metrogyl Er 1 tab bd x 5 days - Tab Zerodol SP 1 tab bd x 5 days - Cap Pan D 1 cap bd before meal x 5 days . - Betadine  mouthwash gargle in luke warm water .2-3 times a day . He will be fine , nothing to worry as such . - Avoid sweet ,sticky or chilled food items - Maintain oral hygiene .

I think its not because of medicine taken if it is not associated with pain in tooth.There might be some other reason for fever
