Severe Gum pain on 46 and 47. Pls help.
I posted this before and got different answers from the dentists in practo. One dentist said I have infection in 45 and 46 and another dentist said no infection. Please give some opinion here which is true.  I have severe gum pain on lower molars first and second on the right side for one week now. I had dental cleaning last week and the gum pain started in second molar 47 since then. The gum pain in first molar 46 is present even before the cleaning. I also have pain in that first molar tooth 46. This tooth pain is since June 2020 and had root canal for that pain. But no infection or cavity on that tooth before root canal. I have jaw pain under ear and neck since May 2020 and went to dentist for this pain and he spotted tooth 46 hurts for tap and bite on it. Cbct and xray clear. Endo said to do RCT for this pain. Gum pain severe constantly on 46 and 47 now. What's the issue and treatment? Severe tooth and gum pain like throbbing all the time.47 gum pain after cleaning. Pls help

Hi... To start with we need to know when was this x-ray taken before you got your cleaning done or after that. Your medical history if any like many systemic diseases cause bone loss like diabetes etc. If this x-ray was taken before cleaning then you have bone loss and pockets around those areas which can be treated with scaling and root planing/ flap surgery along with medications (preferably from a periodontist). But as you have mentioned that the pain started after cleaning, go visit your dentist again and if you are not very confident that treatment was carried out very well then please go for a second opinion.
Next Steps
Consult a dentist online/offline
Health Tips
Try brushing twice daily Do warm saline rinses twice daily and massage your gums with finger gently for 3-4 days
