My mother is having a severe dry cough. She is complaining of some pain also while coughing. She has thyroid for which she is talking thyroxine 100 mg medicine. Can this be serious? Or it is just because of weather change?

The cough with pain may be related to infection plus allergy.  She needs to consult a physician for proper management.  It is a common condition in this weather and is treatable so don't worry. Thyroid problem should be managed as well by repeating the thyroid profile

Hello there..... If your cough has a specific cause, treating this may help. For example: asthma can be treated with inhaled steroids to reduce inflammation in your airways.....allergies can be treated by avoiding things you're allergic to and taking antihistamines to dampen down your allergic reactions...bacterial infections can be treated with antibiotics.... Consult your Physician for further treatment......
