Life is unpredictable and it might be difficult to reason as to why does a particular thing happen to us. Somethings, when beyond our control, are best left to heal gradually so that we can move on. Ruminating about same thing or harming ourselves will do no good. If medicines do not seem to be helping you, either you should consider taking a second opinion or try something extra like psychotherapy, meditation and lifestyle modification to help you overcome your pain. Psychotherapy can be exceptionally helpful in such cases to deal with your cognitive part and make you stronger. Also it is necessary to be taking correct medicines at a correct dose for best results.
Next Steps
consult a psychiatrist to review medicines, start psychotherapy.
