My mother is having both obstructive and restrictive lung disorder?
Are there are two types of medicines for both conditions
I heard steroids like forocort for restrictive and broncodialators like levolin for obstructive .
Is it true
She is getting exercise induced asthama

foracort already has steroid in it..and its termed mixed disorder..share her chest xray and pft

It is better to consult pulmonologist with detailed history and reports and treatment taken for better evaluation and treatment. Pl stop exercise for few days.

Hi .
It would be more helpful if you share the Pulmonary function test report . That would help assess the degree of obstruction. Severe obstruction will have a restrictive pattern eventually without proper treatment . Kindly share the PFT report so I can guide you with the inhalers she uses .

Exercise induced asthma can be avoided if she uses Levolin half hour before exercising and she must avoid cold dry temperatures while exercising.

Foracort is a long acting drug which is enough for asthma, if she takes properly. Levolin can be taken when her asthma is not controlled even with foracort. Need more history to revise the treatment
