Hi doctor we did our 1st 6week scan yesterday and we found there are twin sacs with heart rate each of 131 and 119 bpm. Yolk sac is around 5 mm and CRL is around 0.75 for both . We want to have only one pregnancy and our IVF doc suggested to meet fetal specialist and there might be complications also there are chances the other one vanishes . Are there any complications having reduced from twins to one baby? We are not financially well off to have 2 babies so thinking of this . Kindly suggest if this process can be done and what might be risk for other baby .

Yes there are many complications.... Most common being both fetus can abortion or get expelled..... Since it's IVF pregnancy and only 2 fetus is there....not recommended
Yes. It is not a foolproof procedure. You can't pick and choose which embryo to be aborted. Both may get expelled. You may get one embryo expelled by choice, the other one may vanish after a few days.
For twins it is not worth it to go for foetal reduction. If you had 3 or more embryos then you could have thought of foetal reduction.
