However, for children, it's always safer to get a rabies vaccine course as a precaution, especially if the cat's vaccination status is unknown. Enquire about the vaccination status if the cat and keep an eye on cats behaviour. It is a mild scratch nothing to worry. Yes you should get tetanus vaccination done. If the cat is not vaccinated or not Fully vaccinated, anti rabies vaccine is to be given to the child too
