My friend has been advised scaling and root planing.....she is concerned is it painful as the dentist told her that he would give her an anaesthetic injection....she is very scared of dentists as well as needles and is not ready to get the anaesthetic injection....is it really important to get the injection...

Mam,Root planing procedure definitely requires an anaesthetic to be injected so that you are comfortable during the procedure.
