My dentist suggested for root canal of tooth in upper jaw. Will the surrounding teeth be effected due to this as it might require grinding of surrounding tooth to place new cap(crown). Can the root canalled tooth be eligible for professional cleaning. Please tell how long will the tooth be in good condition. Are there chances of the decay- of that tooth later.

Hello mam,
As a root canal specialist my advise is to get it done by an Endodontist. There is no need to grind the adjacent teeth to place the crown and you can continue to use the RCT treated tooth just as a normal tooth after the crown is placed.
No tooth other than the root canaled tooth is touched during crown cutting. Yes the tooth can be cleaned like any other tooth. A properly done root canal and properly restored tooth can last for 15-20 years .
The tooth can get decayed if there is gap or leakage under your crown or filling
